Given: Nₚ=100, Nₛ=200 and the output (secondary) current Iₛ=5 A, with no losses.
Idea: the turns ratio raises the voltage, (Vₛ)/(Vₚ)=(Nₛ)/(Nₚ)=2, while an ideal transformer conserves power, VₚIₚ=VₛIₛ.
Dividing one relation by the other, (Iₚ)/(Iₛ)=(Vₛ)/(Vₚ)=(Nₛ)/(Nₚ)=(200)/(100)=2.
Iₚ=2×5=10 A.
So the input current is 10 A: stepping the voltage up by two steps the current down by two.
