Idea: for any real transformer Pₒᵤₜ=Pᵢₙ-Pₗₒₛₛ.
Losses: I²R heating in the copper windings, eddy currents and hysteresis in the iron core, and leakage of flux.
The efficiency η=(Pₒᵤₜ)/(Pᵢₙ) is high (often above 90%), but always less than 1.
So in practice the output power is less than the input power.
