For point masses, I=Σ m r², with r measured from the axis.
The axis passes through one vertex, so that particle sits on it: r=0.
Two particles are at the far ends of the adjacent sides: r=2 m each, so r²=4.
The fourth is across the diagonal: r=2√2 m, so r²=8.
I=(1)(0)+(1)(4)+(1)(4)+(1)(8)=16 kg m².
