Idea: name the band from the frequencies cellular networks actually work at.
Mobile handsets transmit near 900 MHz and 1800 MHz and above -- hundreds of megahertz up to a few gigahertz.
The range 300 MHz to 3000 MHz is called the ultra high frequency band, UHF.
A short aerial is enough there, because the wavelength is only centimetres to tens of centimetres.
So cellular phones use the UHF band.
