Asked in GSEB Board July 2017 · Flux through a surface
Given: A = 100 cm² = 100 × 10⁻⁴ m² = 10⁻² m²; B = 10³ Wb m⁻²; plane of the coil perpendicular to ⃗B.
Idea: Φ = BA cos θ, where θ is the angle between ⃗B and the normal to the coil.
The plane is perpendicular to the field, so the normal is along the field: θ = 0° and cos θ = 1.
Φ = 10³ × 10⁻² = 10 Wb.
So the flux linked with the coil is 10 Wb.
