Asked in GUJCET 2026 · Matter wave against photon
Idea: a photon of wavelength λ has energy E = (hc)/λ, and being massless its momentum is p = E/c = h/λ.
Now apply de Broglie's relation to that same photon: λ' = h/p.
λ' = h÷h/λ = λ
So the de Broglie relation, used on a photon, simply gives back the wavelength of the radiation: the two are one and the same.
Hence λ' = λ.
