Step-by-step solution

In steady state no current flows in the capacitor branch, so the 4 Ω has no drop.

Current flows only around the loop of the 2 V cell, 6 Ω and 2 Ω.

I=2/(6+2)=0.25 A

The capacitor sits across the two rails, i.e. across the 2 Ω resistor.

V_C=0.25×2=0.5 V
