Given: jω L, the inductive reactance of a coil, with Q for the dimension of charge.
Idea: j only turns the phase through 90° and carries no dimension, and ω L=X_L is a reactance, so jω L has the dimensions of resistance.
Build a resistance out of Q: V=W/Q and I=Q/T, so R=V/I=(WT)/(Q²).
[R]=(M¹L²T⁻²·T¹)/(Q²)=M¹L²T⁻¹Q⁻².
So jω L has the dimensions M¹L²T⁻¹Q⁻² -- the same as R and as 1/(ω C), which is exactly why the three can be combined into one impedance.
