Given: λ=4000 A=4000×10⁻¹⁰ m=4×10⁻⁷ m, and the length L=1 mm=10⁻³ m.
Idea: each complete wave occupies one wavelength, so the number of waves in a length is N=L/λ.
N=(10⁻³)/(4×10⁻⁷)=2500.
So 2500 waves fit into 1 mm.
