The resonance frequency of an L–C–R AC series circuit is f₀= .........

Asked in RS Academy GUJCET booklet · Resonance condition and tuning

Answer: (1) 1/(2π√LC)

Step-by-step solution

Idea: at resonance the inductive and capacitive reactances are equal, X_L=X_C.

ω₀L=1/(ω₀C)⇒ω₀²=1/(LC)⇒ω₀=1/(√LC).

With ω₀=2π f₀: f₀=1/(2π√LC).

R does not appear: it decides how sharp the resonance is, not where it occurs.

So f₀=1/(2π√LC).

Why the other options are wrong
