Asked in GUJCET 2026 · Reactance and frequency
Given: C=15.0 μF=15.0×10⁻⁶ F and f=50 Hz. The 220 V is not needed — reactance does not depend on the applied voltage.
Idea: a capacitor's opposition to a.c. is X_C=1/(ω C)=1/(2π fC), and it falls as either the frequency or the capacitance rises.
2π fC=2×3.1416×50×15.0×10⁻⁶=4.712×10⁻³ Ω⁻¹.
X_C=1/(4.712×10⁻³)=212 Ω.
So the capacitive reactance is about 212 Ω.
