Idea: at resonance the two reactances are equal, X_L=X_C, so the net reactance is zero.
Then Z=√R²+(X_L-X_C)²=R.
The phase angle follows from tan φ=(X_L-X_C)/R=0, so φ=0.
Power factor =cos φ=R/Z=R/R=1.
So at resonance the circuit is purely resistive and the power factor takes its largest possible value, 1 — which is why the power drawn is greatest there.
