Step-by-step solution

Idea: write each gate's output in Boolean form and multiply them out.

The upper gate gives Y₁=A+B and the lower one Y₂=A· B.

The final AND gives Y=Y₁· Y₂=A+B·A· B.

A+B is 1 only when A=B=0, and in that case A· B is 1 as well, so the second factor never removes anything the first kept.

Y=A+B, which is a NOR gate.
