Given: A=1 cm²=10⁻⁴ m² and Y=2×10¹¹ N m⁻².
Doubling the length means the extension equals the original length, so the strain is (Δ L)/L=1.
F=YA(Δ L)/L=2×10¹¹×10⁻⁴×1.
F=2×10⁷ N.
In practice a wire snaps long before this, since a strain of 1 is far past the elastic limit; the question is about the formula, not about a real wire.
