Asked in GUJCET 2026 · Nuclear radius and density
Given: the nucleus of a hydrogen atom is a single proton, so A=1.
Idea: R=R₀A^1/3 with R₀=1.2 fm=1.2×10⁻¹⁵ m.
A^1/3=1^1/3=1.
R=1.2 fm.
So R₀ is itself the radius of the smallest nucleus there is — and every other nuclear radius is a multiple of it.
