Given: m=200 g=0.2 kg, ℓ=1.5 m, I=2 A, in a horizontal field perpendicular to the wire.
Idea: the wire floats when the magnetic force BIℓ points vertically upward and balances the weight mg.
BIℓ=mg, so B=(mg)/(Iℓ).
B=(0.2×9.8)/(2×1.5)=(1.96)/3.
=0.65 T (with g=10 m s⁻² it would be 0.67 T, still nearest 0.65).
