Energy density is energy stored per unit volume, so its unit is J m⁻³.
For the electric field it is u=1/2ε₀E².
Rewrite the unit: 1 J=1 N m, so J m⁻³=N m m⁻³=N m⁻².
N m⁻² is force per unit area — the pascal, the unit of pressure.
So electric energy density and pressure share the same unit.
