Idea: in the photoelectric effect light delivers its energy in lumps (photons) of h u, each absorbed whole by a single electron.
This explains the threshold frequency, why Kₘₐₓ depends on frequency but not on intensity, and why emission starts at once.
A continuous wave, spreading its energy over the whole surface, could not explain any of these.
So the photoelectric effect shows the particle nature of light.
