Asked in GSEB Board July 2016 · Frequency and current in LC
Idea: in an LC circuit the charge obeys (d²q)/(dt²)=-1/(LC) q, the same form as simple harmonic motion, (d²x)/(dt²)=-ω²x.
Comparing the two, the angular frequency is ω₀=1/(√LC).
The current I=(dq)/(dt) oscillates at the same frequency as the charge.
With ω₀=2π f: f=(ω₀)/(2π)=1/(2π√LC).
So the frequency is f=1/(2π√LC).
Reading this solution needs no sign-in. You only sign in to practise against the clock and keep your progress.
